Where do we begin? Where do we end?
And so time marches forward.
Saviors of Hogtown
Dissonance is back from creating a supplement for Cthulu Dark, Saviors of Hogtown is a grouping of three ‘funnels’ for Dungeon World. Similar to Cthulu Deep Green, this is for 3–6 players to explore an adventure completely encapsulated within itself. Saviors of Hogtown is the title of the first, with The King Beneath the Castle and Shark God’s Chunder to follow suit. If you are an avid Dungeon World player, or just want something to shake things up and tow a fine line between narrative exploration and absolute mechanical fun times, look into this one.
Hero Too
In a change of pace, Hero Too is a solo journalling TTRPG created by ThatAceGirl utilizing Orion D Black’s ‘plot ARMOR’ as it’s base. This is an exploration of superheroics within a school setting that uses this medium as a way of drawing parallels to trans identities, juggling between the hardships of being a superhero while dealing with many common social issues trans individuals face in day-to-day life. It’s about documenting these events through some TTRPG rolls and creating a narrative out of how the player handles each, with an abundance of safety tools to help ensure that no matter what, everyone can have fun.
I’m probably not the best person to talk about this style of game due to me being cis as heck, but it’s a fantastic way of learning the different struggles through short storied narratives.
Spring On Me
Created by Swords and Flowers, Spring on Me asks the simple yet difficult (even much more so nowadays) question of how romantic one is feeling, and how well they can ‘deal’ with dates, regardless of the situation. It’s almost more of an improv game, as players will be given prompts to act out how each date goes, a complication of the date and how it ends after the two players involved have come to a conclusion of the scene. The coin is for the final date, in which both players have until the coin stops spinning to act out the final moments before Spring ends.
It’s not going to be for everyone, as it is 100% roleplaying at its finest — not to mention that you’ll need a group that you’ll be comfortable with talking about some very heavy and possibly super intimate stuff. But if you want in on this acting fun, try it out.

Project Galileo
An expedition set in the Trophy Dark landscape, Project Galileo was crafted by the joint publisher/content creation duo Ember and Ash. It follows a space archeology expedition, and the slow-building horrors that one finds when alone in space. Thanks to the ruleset being available, players that don’t have prior experience with Trophy Dark are fine to play, making the title almost standalone as a one-shot scenario.
It aims for capturing the sense of dread of the unknown, and does so in spades; you’ll never know what you’re going to uncover next, only that everything around you cannot be truly killed. If there’s anything there at all. If you’re in to ‘Alien’-style dread within a single one-shot, then this is definitely one to try out.
OmniMyth: Fables
Finally on the list is this TTRPG by OmniMyth that is currently (at least I believe so) in its beta testing stage. Focusing on characters rather than the overarching adventure itself, the game attempts to subvert the traditional ‘hero’s journey’ storyline and instead make a complete customization of each character through a classless creator and an ability creation system. It’s meant to be simple and fast, avoiding a lot of the slog that can come with other TTRPGs and keep players invested in the possibilities. If you wish to see more, there’s a website as well to visit and see the entire project for yourself.
That’s it. See you tomorrow!
