PEGBRJE: Software of Page 21
Oh there is software in here.
Guess who forgot to post this on time?
MEEEEEEE.
Art Telephone
An intriguing title by Ken Davidson, Art Telephone is essentially a game in which players come together and play telephone, but through art exclusively. Since it was created with the #SaveThePost Game Jam, the idea is to send the artwork to a friend through the mail, and they will create their own either inspired by that piece or build off of it or whatever they desire and continue it forward. The final person will send their artwork back to the original, and now everyone has art from their friends; touching, if I’m honest. Definitely a cool idea to try out with some friends.
Eros System: Core Rulebook
This here is actually an RPG system created by Dave Landry, crafted for the science fiction setting and TTRPG called Eros 433. It builds off this sci-fi setting with a more mature tone, focusing primarily on crunch and build diversity within its simplistic approach with only d6s. It may definitely leave some of us newer TTRPG folks in the dust with its older-style of approach, but this can also be a good thing to bring a new system from the past in to the present. If you are a fan of doing some math and having tons of pools of resources to work with, Eros might be worth a shot.
Lifter -8bit Cyber Platformer Pack
Confusing me in to thinking that this was a full game, the Lifter -8bit Cyber Platformer Pack was made by Shoehead out of the remains of an abandoned project. Featuring a fantastic palette of neon colours with that NES 8-bit darkness to them, they could slot perfectly in to any 2D scroller of this style that you may be creating.
Summer Garden Set
A curious and soft asset pack by ‘TheDiceGoddess’, this pack offers a lovely garden for anyone to use. Featuring fruits, fences and fauna it comes in a Unity package to simplify importing. The colours are purposefully made to give you that summery relaxed feeling, and they might go great in a title that needs them.
SHATTERED
Another TTRPG graces this page, but this one is much more dark than the previous, for SHATTERED is a TTRPG by ‘It’s Never Dark Enough’ based on the grimdark subgenre. The art is expressive and detailed in its post-apocalyptic nature with dark strokes and dieselpunk aesthetic, and the world is bleak and cruel. Gameplay features a classless system for players to spec in any way they wish and utilizes action points with their dice rolls to execute combat encounters. It’s also extremely lengthy and crunchy, and I don’t have enough time to really flesh out everything so let’s put it this way; if you enjoy Warhammer-like aesthetics mixed with a TTRPG that wants combat to be as important as narrative, then this is the title for you.
A Guide To Casting Phantoms In The Revolution
Alright this might be a tad bit confusing, but have you ever wanted to be in the French Revolution? Cue the ‘which one?’ jokes. But do you wish to be part of that same revolution but also everyone is ghosts? It doesn’t sound like it makes sense, but World Champ Game Company made this intriguing roleplay board game experience all the same. Players are all working together to control these phantoms to overthrow the aristocracy whilst utilizing cards to understand each event. There’s quite a bit of complexity here, with many of them feeling somewhat ritualistic, but what can you expect from a game in which the board is a pentagram? It may not be for everyone, but it’s definitely worth looking in to for a one shot storybuilding experience.
THE CAT HACK
And now for the second title I thought was a video game, THE CAT HACK is actually a self-contained TTRPG made by Kirt Dankmyer based on the original adventure ‘The Black Hack’. This time, however, players are all cats within a minimalistic setting and contained within 16 pages. It’s definitely something many wouldn’t expect, but if you’re looking for a cute adventure with cats, then this is definitely it.
Again, apologies. You’ll see me again in… oh, 12 hours probably. And now I’m just rambling at the end of a blog. Fun!
